About Us

As an animal activist, I became very aware of the number of animals that were not deemed adoptable or overlooked because of needing medical assistance. This medical assistance may be as minor as mange, an eye infection, worms, or more seriously, heartworms and surgeries for a fracture. Otherwise, most of these animals would have been "put down" because of the cost. A candy jar fund was started on an experimental basis located at 10 facilities over a 5 month period.

The results showed that the public was very willing to donate for this cause. The facilities were very willing to continue and actually liked the candy jar there. Over $1,000 from the jars was donated to various causes based on need. The candy fund is to be used for predominately puppies and dogs. It is open to all rescues, shelters, and relinquished dogs at vet clinics or other pet facilities in the Tri State area. For those that are in the animal business, you may even have a future need to use the fund to help some animal who deserves another chance with our help.
